Leave...

Haha basically took one day of "wasted" leave today coz I actually didn't really went out until in the night. I was in the "dun feel like working" mood after cny and so I applied the "urgent leave" late last night. Hahaha. Might as well, I brought forward 21 days of leave from 2009, plus my 21 days for this year, is a grand total of 42 days of leave. If I have to forfeit 12.5 days of leave last year coz no time to take leave, what makes you think the same thing wouldn't happen this year? Thus this year I am not stupid liao, I am going to take a few days leave here and there to prevent the same problem last year.

Basically my trip out is to nearby Vivocity is to get a luggage for my overseas trip. Haha I dun travel actually so I do not have a luggage. Getting a luggage is actually a art - so many colours, designs, and so many sizes. In the end, I choose price as my top priority and size as my second priority. So I got one reasonably big luggage at a cheap cheap price of less than 40 bucks. As compared to the so called "better" ones, this is one third of the price. Haha anyway i dun travel often, so I dun see the need to buy a superb expensive one.

I bumped into Naomi from SGRunners after paying for the luggage. Haha have not saw her for ages. Catch up for a while before returning home. Haha that's how I wasted my leave.

Of coz I spent quite a time on Facebook as well. Have been clearing those games requests while playing Mafia Wars. Sad to say, it is so hard to clear finish - last time they used to display all, then they change to the recent 100. So after I cleared some, the number is still 100, it replaces those which I have cleared with the older games requests. So haha it's like never ending. I have been clearing since early this morning, I have yet to finish. I think that I am going to surrender.

Anyway since I mention Mafia Wars, just share a bit since my friends was asking me about it. I used to think that I am good in Mafia Wars, and some friends also assumed so because of my high level, but the fact is not. I am used to be an energy player, I invested all my skills points to my energy stats, so that I can perfom more jobs, level up faster. But then I realized that I got hit a lot, I thought it is because of my small mafia size, so I went to the extent to join Mafia Wars groups and posting add me posts, adding gaming friends aka strangers into the friend list. Soon my mafia size grew to 501. The hits on me has reduced but there still is. And then I joined Mafia Wars Clan - my current one is The Oriental Mafia Wars Clan. This clan is arguably one of the biggest around. Through all the mock wars/wars when we fight with rival clans, then I realized how weak my character is. I was losing to characters half my level.

I was wondering what the hell. Then I realized. I was concentrating on leveling up & completing the stages. I didn't realize the importance of the mafia attack strength and mafia defense strength. I didn't gather enough powerful loots for all my mafia. And then also after quite a while, then I realized the mafia sttack strength is interdependent from the mafia defense strength. At first, I thought that the mafia defense strength is based on defense value of the high attack valued loots. Coz these are these loots that you see used in fights. Took me a while to realize that actually it is not. The mafia defense strength is based purely on defense value of the high defence loots.

So there are at least six loots that a want-to-be powerful mafia war players required.

For beginner with a mafia size of 501, you may want to target the following:

501 x Canonazo (42 Atk, 22 Def)
501 x Guerilla Squad (34 Atk, 30 Def)
501 x Track Loader (37 Atk, 32 Def)

That works out to have a minimal Mafia Attack Strength of 56,613. Of coz there are other higher attack loots that you would get along the game. So that the strength could be as high as in 60,000 region.

501 x Gaff hook (20 Atk, 35 Def)
501 x Executive Overcoat (22 Atk, 45 Def)
501 x Armoured Stated Car (30 Atk, 42 Def)

That works out to have a minimal Mafia Defense Strength of 61,122. Of coz it could be higher as well. My defence is still in the 40,000s. That pretty sums it up. Still got a long way to perfection. I am still considered a rather weak target for my level when it comes to wars against rival clans.
So playing Mafia Wars can be quite a art as well. That really depends on your prospectives.

Some people absolutely hate it to the core, coz pp always flood their wall/homepage with posts.

But there are people who can lose their sleep over it and absolutely love it.

If I said my leave taken today is because I want to complete the "Love hurts" Challenge in Mafia Wars. Anyone would believe? Hahahaha. But the fact is. I know this is crazy and some would think that I am nuts. I was busy during the cny to realize about this challenge - it involves a collection of loots drop and mastering of a skill. Basically I complete the collection last night but then I never started with the mastering. So haha I started last night - 100 x 5 mins jobs... Not knowing when this challenge will end, I took leave to complete it. Haha

Crazy me. As long as I am happy. As long as it keep my freshly wounded heart numb. It's worth it. How ironic is the name of that challenge that I was desperately trying to complete? "Love hurts" haha. It really hurts through.

Nah didn't jog today. Legs already starting to ache. Haha. Die die must jog tml evening.

Like it or not, it is back to work tml. 2 more weeks to flying off. =P
