This idea of Mr Idris actually started & materialized when he msged me 1st week of Jan as Wahid's birthday is approaching. I reminded that actually Yong Kai's birthday was just over as he is bornt late Dec. So we discussed and agreed upon that we would include Yong Kai in for a very postdated surprise.
Guys being guys, so we were rather last min. Idris and I only met about 45 mins earlier than the rest to get the presents. But then guys being guys, we were able to do the shopping fast and furious. Didn't take too long to make the decision. Actually it was all planned, Idris already got their shirt sizes by coming out with some crap stories - the story line should be something along swapping some shirt that he brought wrongly. Hahaha.
We decided to eat at Swensen's, we didn't recce the price beforehand. Original intention is to get a cake there as well, but hahaha as there is only 3 "paying members" and 1 is kinda on a budget, found the cake a bit too expensive and decided to change plan a bit and sponsor their meals and ice cream buffets. But it turns out well anyway, Wahid has been visiting the outlet quite often for the ice cream buffets.
As per any outing, we talked everything under the sun, but the most important of all, we have come out of the draft plan for this year's class gathering. 2007 class bbq was great, but 2008 class bbq was lukewarm, so 2009 we didn't organize a major class gathering. This year, being a decade upon leaving Beatty, it is good time to organize a big one. We actually already confirm the date - but it's like still 5 months plus away.
My only concern is on the venue through. Not very accessible. But haha can give it a go. I was kinda thinking of organizing later in the year, but since there is an opportunity, we just grabbed it.

Back to the meal, it is my first time eating the ice cream buffet. Haha I think I would not be eating ice cream for a while. Haha. Never really count, but I went 4 rounds due to peer pressure - should be at least 12 scoops bah, the milo favoured ice cream is disappointing, I cannot taste anything but I love the durian one. Solid. Really is DURIAN. Hahaha.
After parting way with the guys, I went to Novena Velocity. There is only one reason to be there. I brought my new "wife" - NB 1064. Got it using the 30% discount which I got from the New Balance Real Run - have been keeping the voucher for this pair of shoes. Have been using the 1060 series for like 5 years le. =P
Interesting, being a pair of cushioning shoes, they come out of the idea giving a cushion as a free gift for buying this shoes.
So does the cushion looks like the shoes? Haha looking forward to burn some rubber soon. I have signed up for my 1st race of the year - haha very close from the expected date of return from Germany. But haha heck lah, just take it as a training run loh. This shoes should be following me to Germany, just that I still have not figure out if I have the time to train.
Quite a good weekend but haha didn't do much spring cleaning today. Haha. And I have not started buying new clothes for Chinese new year too. And maybe some more items for the Germany trip. Haha many things to do.
