I still can remember that last lunar new year eve at 2pm, my father called me and ask if i have pay respects and offer offerings to my late mother, which I didn't know that I got to do as part of the tradition and customs of the lunar new year. I managed to do it in the end after he helped me find a shop which is still open and got the paper offerings. So haha this year I know what to do liao, and since I am not working on a sat. I decided to go to Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng where my mother ashes are being kept after having my lunch, and I wasn't really prepared for what was installed. I learn about the customs to pay respects to ancestors before the new year le, but then I didn't expect the place to be so crowded. And compared to other people, my offerings look very pale and pathetic. Hahaha.

I actually walk around the place today, just a small part actually. I dunno why. Every time I visit my late mother's resting place, I will feel the urge to look for her father's one, my late maternal grandfather. His is originally been stored at Mount Vernon Columbarium but was shifted away a few years back by his lawful family, hmmm kind complicated but in the older days, it was a norm to have more than a wife. And so because it was moved, and there is no contact, I seriously dunno where is the location now.

Maybe not the right time yet. But I am sure down the years, I will want to hunt down his resting place, because it's part of my roots. By the way, just let those who have not been the place before, 1 room has almost 6000 urns inside. Haha. Hmmm there should be better ways but I wonder how.

After going home, I have been busy doing last min spring cleaning before the lunar new year. Well well I did some spring cleaning while I was on leave end of last year, but then since then, I have not been doing much cleaning, and also not at home most of the time this year since I am staying in. It is one major cleaning exercise, less the room that I double as store room - too much mess to be settled in a day, that will wait till after chinese new year. I even washed the kitchen floor, that dun happened very often you know. Haha.

Okay dead tired today. Tml shall be the start of feasting. Haha =P
