I managed to complete my run today. I decided to jog together with GP. She's the ideal pacer for me - as she's a sprinter in the past - she wasn't training for long distance. And me coming back from my injury and so far 4km was the longest i ran.

And so as expected, we were relatively okay for our first 5km or so, then we went downhill from there. Hahahaha. She's having problem with her toe, i am having my set of problems with my operated ankle and shin splint.
And so we more or less adopted a "slow jogging" or "brisk walking", depends on how you see it, to the end point.

We took about 1 hr 52 mins to complete the 12km. Ya i know this timing is enough for many runners to complete 21km.

With due respect to GP, who i think can run faster despite her problem, she slowed down for me. But i didn't know that i am that bad at the moment. Even running at such slow pace, i am still struggling to cope with my injury. It's not very painful, but the pain never seems to go away. And i am so tired after the run.

I didn't even bother to find SGRunners after the run. I didn't want anyone to ask me the distance and the timing.

Feel quite demoralized. It's like a death sentence for me. I really dunno how can i go back to combat in 2-3 months time. Maybe i should just quit trying.

And my deepest condolences to the family of CPT Ho who lost his life in the run this morning...

Your timing for 12km not bad if you compare yourself to other physically okay people. Pretty sure you not the last one in, right?

Continue to work on strengthen your legs and core muscles - take baby steps and you will come back stronger and faster.

Slow and steady win the race.
