Woke up at 8 am, despite not setting any alarm, with a swollen right ankle. Hmmm i dunno what happened, but i guess i hurt it during the preview show yesterday. I kinda twist it when i tripped over somebody feet in the human jam. The pain's still manageable enough.
Went down to the market to order some paper offerings for my late mother this coming Thursday. Time really flies, this coming Thursday is going to be the 100th day of her passing. I have yet to hear anything from you-know-who so it's better for me to start planning first, i dun even know if they will go and pay respect or not.
Then i went to have my breakfast at coffee shop before heading home because i forget to bring my ez-link card. Then i proceeded to travel to East Coast Park to support my fellow SGrunners for the OSIM Singapore International Triathlon via bus 196. It's a very long bus trip with the bus traveling Jalan Bukit Merah, CBD, etc etc.
It's along Jalan Bukit Merah that i observed something. I was sitting on the upper deck of the double decker bus so i have a clear look on the national day banners put up by Tanjong Pagar Town Council, Central CDC. One of the banner actually shows that a spectacled girl wearing a cap with the NDP 07 logo.
Well this cap never exists. In fact there is no cap this year. It's a result of photoshop. They somehow used pict from last year or last last year and removed the logo and insert the logo of this year.
Hmmm i dunno. I just dun feel right about it. Luckily i have yet to encounter anyone asking me about the cap over the hotline.
I didn't know where actually is the start/end point for the Triathlon because i didn't check in the forum prior of me going. And so i stupid stupid alight at Parkway Parade there and wanted to cross over to the East Coast Park. Who knows that the stupid rain follows me again for the 2nd day running. I was stuck in the underpass for 45 minutes because of the heavy downpour.
Luckily managed to contact Roonz when the rain stopped and she told me the location. And then I realized that i am very very far away from the area. And so i started taking a very long scroll - about slightly more than 3km according to Tiwazz.
When i finally reached there after walking for 40mins or so, tried calling Roonz again but doesn't seem able to get her. Saw many runners going back home while i walked there. And also a lot of runners were eating at the food centre.
Not wanting to give up, decided to go and see see look look at the start point. Then i realized that there are people queuing to start the race. Then i heard that they actually modified and cut short the race due to the heavy rain.
And then i continued to wander around, decided to explore and check up where is the end point. Wandering like a lost sheep like that and then i finally saw someone approaching me wearing the same SGRunners Polo Shirt. It was Gentle. Then i saw Tiwazz, Charlotte, Dasher, Eliza, David Goh, Fennel. So happy to see them.
It was still a great atmosphere despite the wet wet muddy muddy conditions. Soaked in the atmosphere and see the participants racing. There is still quite a big number of them despite the wet conditions. Managed to see fellow SGRunners - Roonz, Sotong, Tigger, IMD, Teelee doing their races.
After the race, we went to the food centre to eat our late late lunch. Got to see Mrs Sotong, SV, babumouse. We ate and talk until 4 plus before we finally dismissed and headed home respectively.
It's another long trip home in the bus 196 that i slept for quite a long while. Overall it's been a good day. Enjoyed the company and the race.
