Thursday, August 16

Sorry for not updating this blog for these few days. Because it has been a tired week. I have started a training program, with 9 Aug now out of the way and with 3 months of medical status left.

And so my body is readjusting to my training. My colleague who has a similar injury as me, just got a permanent medical status and was advised by my boss today to plan for his future - i.e chances of him staying in the force is little.

And so from what he's going through, i can preview what's going to unfold in 3 months time. I still dunno what to talk to my specialist yet. Yes the truth is I still have a certain degree of residual pain left, which can be quite bad at times. And so my plans for this 3 months until i see my specialist and medical review for my medical status, is that i shall be pushing my limits. I shall be training hard till the best of my ability. Maybe i am running much slower now, but the objective is to run as best as i can and start to get my fitness back if i can medically upgrade myself.

Though kinda fear that the specialist will give a permanent medical status, but i cannot be lying and pretending that everything is fine also. So i shall be honest. And let the medical staff decide what's best.

I am not fearful. I am wise enough to realize that what's coming since i struggled to make a comeback from the operation. I shall take everything that comes my way, but not without me trying my last shot, and i am quite confident.

Took a half day off this afternoon after doing my regimental duty last night. I still got 3 days off to clear, but my work is basically "endless" at the moment.

Went for the Sgrunners Westside run at my homeground this evening, was joined by Tiwazz, who is doing his interval training.

Saw my juniors training even during their exams period, and also saw my former coach, Paul training some veteran runners.

Did my routine 4km slow run, stopped 2 or 3 times towards the end because i didn't realize Tiwazz is doing interval, and was trying to play catch up with him at the beginning of my run. But i am faster than what i did on Tuesday and Monday.
I have almost broke the 30 minutes barrier, yes it's no big deal to seasoned runners, no big deal for me in the past before the operation. But considered that i just did 34 minutes on Monday when i first started this routine, and struggled to run more than 2 km just one, two months ago, i am quite happy with the progress i have made so far.

Proceeded with Tiwazz to Commonwealth Market for our Cheng tng "dinner" after he finished his 10km routine.
