Singapore won!!! 1-1 is enough to bring home the trophy from Thailand...

But seriously, if you watch the game, there are so many bad decisions that gone against Singapore, that i thought Singapore is not going to make it. A wrongly disallowed goal which is wrote off for offside, but replays showed that it was onside.

And frankly speaking, Thailand is the better side tonight. It was painful watching the game as a Lions fan. There are easily 3,4 chances that Thailand should score. Lionel Lewis again singlehandedly kept the Lions in the game with a couple of great saves. And this on-the-line clearance by Nor Rahman when Lewis is soundly beaten, leaving an open goal for the Thai to aim at.

But Singapore plays a great tactical game. Doing what's necessary when Khairul Amir scored in the 80th min to equalise the game for the night. And that was it. Singapore was on its way for its 3rd Asean Football Championship, sharing the honour with Thailand as 3 times champions for the tournament.

7 games - 2 wins and 5 drawn games. Not exactly pretty for a champion. But it is enough. But noticeably, in these 5 drawn games; 1 was goal-less, in the other 4 games, Singapore crawled back into these games after they had fallen behind. 5 times to be exact in these games. It showed the fighting character and never give up spirit of this team.

Credit to the team, and its coach, Raddy for the championship. But i hope that Singapore football dun stop at ASEAN level. Thailand is in the upcoming ASIAN cup as co-hosts with Malaysia, Vietnam & Indonesia (anyway i was wondering how come Singapore did not bid to co-host the cup) but we did not qualify for the tournament. I hope that that will be our next target down the years.
