Saw this on SGRunners, posted by Ultra Shifu/Legend. Find it very useful and good things are meant to be shared. So just share with the rest who are not in the forum as the countdown to SCSM has began.
(01) Stop eating typical sinful meals from this week onward. No laksa!
(02) Stop taking ginger, onion, chilies and garlic related food 2-3 days before SCM.
(03) Stop drinking all gassy drinks from this week onward.
(04) No red wine and any alcohols during the final 3 days.
(05) No oily and spicy food from this week onward.
(06) Take extra care if you are drinking milk 2 days before SCM.
(07) Refrain from certain fruits such as pineapple and durian alike.
(08) No coconut milk drinks 2 days before SCM.
(09) No staying up late during the final count down week.
(10) Keep cool and maintain a relax mood throughout the final count down week. Be cheerful.
(11) Do rest well before Saturday as you are unlikely to rest well due to excitement on the eve of the event.
(12) No late night party and prevent OT at work during the count down week.
(13) Definitely no OT on Friday and Saturday night!
(14) No drastic exercise 3 days before SCM.
(15) For guys, refrain from “overly excited activities” 2 nights before SCM.
(16) Drink plenty of water 1-2 days before SCM; try warm honey (Manuka honey with UMF 30+).
(17) Carbo loading can begin now at moderate rate. Eat smart!
(18) Drink salt water on the night before and also a few hours before the actual run.
(19) Check and trim your toe nails and ensure all body surfaces are in accepted condition.
(20) Check the accessories that you shall be carrying along during the run.
(21) Check your running attires to ensure that they are in proper condition especially the running shoes and the right socks 2-3 days before the run.
(22) Pick the running attires that are the most comfortable and stylish enough to make you proud of yourself during the run.
(23) Don’t react to be too excited during the final few hours till flag off. Meditate and keep cool.
(24) Don’t talk too much and focus!
(25) Running a marathon can either be a serious matter or a fun thing depending on the category you belong to.
(26) Having a belief and identify the things that can motivate you to complete or do well in the run is recommended.
(27) Make sure you are injury free and sickness free within the countdown period!
